A tiny garden adventure you can hold in your hands!
🥄 What You’ll Need:
1 clean cup or small pot (with a hole or a few pebbles at the bottom)
A scoop of soil (from outside or a bag of potting mix)
Seeds or food scraps (see below!)
A spoon or tiny shovel
A little water
Sunshine and smiles!
🌞 Step 1: Wake Up the Cup!
Tap your cup gently. Say:
“Hello, little cup! Let’s grow something magical today!”
Place a few small stones at the bottom so your plant doesn’t get soggy feet.
🐛 Step 2: Scoop in the Soil
Use a spoon to fill your cup with soil, almost to the top.
“This is the bed where your plant will sleep, stretch, and grow!”
🌱 Step 3: Tuck in Your Seeds or Try Food Scraps!
If you have seeds, plant 1–2 in a little hole and cover gently.
“Goodnight, little seed!”
No seeds? No problem! Try these fun food scrap starters:
🌿 What to Grow🧑🍳 Use This Food Scrap:
Green onions: The white bulb with roots
Lettuce: The lettuce bottom (the stump!)
Garlic: A clove that's sprouting
Avocado: The big seed from the middle
Carrots: The top with a leafy bit
Celery: The base where the stalks connect
Just place them gently in the soil, root side down or flat, and water like you would a seed.
💧 Step 4: Give a Gentle Drink
Use a small cup or dropper to water your garden until the soil is damp—not soggy.
“Ahhh, refreshing!”
🌤 Step 5: Find the Perfect Sun Spot
Put your cup on a sunny windowsill. Plants love to wake up with the sun!
📆 Step 6: Check In Daily
Every morning, peek inside. Add water if it feels dry. Talk to your sprout.
“Good morning, little garden!”
✨ Bonus Fun:
Draw a “before and after” picture each week
Decorate your cup with eyes, stickers, or a name tag
Measure how tall it gets with a ruler and mark its height
🌈 Remember: Whether from a seed or a scrap, growing is a gift.
Even the tiniest garden brings joy and maybe even lunch! haha!🥕🥬
